Sending email through Gmail

GigThreader can send your outreach emails directly through your own Gmail account. One click in a reach-out and the email goes out from your address — sender reputation, replies, and conversation threading all stay with you, exactly as if you'd sent it from Gmail yourself. Because you did.

Why it works this way

Pitches sent from a platform's address land in spam and read as mass mail. Emails from you don't. So GigThreader never sends on your behalf from its own servers — it asks Gmail to send your message from your account. The recipient sees your name and your address, their reply lands in your normal inbox, and the whole conversation lives in your Gmail Sent/thread history like any other email.

What permission it uses — and doesn't

When you connect, Google asks you to grant exactly one meaningful permission: send email on your behalf. That's the whole grant.

• GigThreader cannot read your inbox.
• It cannot see, search, or open any existing email.
• It cannot create drafts or modify anything in your account.

Send-only. The only other thing it learns is which Gmail address you connected, so it can show "Connected as you@gmail.com" in your settings.

About the "This app isn't verified" screen

While Google's verification review of GigThreader is in progress (it takes a few weeks), the consent screen shows a warning that the app isn't verified. That's Google's default for any app in the review queue — not a judgment about safety. To continue past it: click Advanced, then Continue to GigThreader. The app reminds you of this right before sending you to Google, one time only.

Connecting

Account Settings → Connected accounts → Gmail → Connect. You'll go to Google's consent screen, approve, and land back in the app showing your connected address. Connecting is free and available on every tier — no credits involved, ever.

To disconnect: same place, Disconnect. You can also revoke GigThreader's access from your Google account's security settings at any time — both work.

Sending

In a reach-out, Draft Email opens the email panel. With Gmail connected you get a Send via Gmail button: it sends, logs the interaction on the thread automatically (channel, title, and the body if you keep "store sent email bodies" on), and marks the gig contacted on a first touch. Follow-up emails reply into the same Gmail conversation rather than starting a new thread — recipients see one continuous exchange.

No Gmail connected, or prefer not to? The panel always offers Mail (opens your own mail app with everything pre-filled) and Copy (grabs the text for pasting anywhere). Those work for everyone, no connection required.

The daily cap

Sending is limited to 100 emails per day. If you hit it, the Mail and Copy fallbacks still work — the cap only applies to sends through the API. It exists as spam hygiene, for your deliverability as much as ours: this tool is built for researched, personal outreach, and a hundred personal emails is a very big day. If you're routinely brushing against it, that's usually a sign to send fewer, better-targeted pitches — not to need a bigger pipe.

Replies

Replies arrive in your Gmail inbox like any normal email — GigThreader doesn't see or track them. When someone writes back, log it on the reach-out thread (Log Interaction → Email) so your follow-up dates stay honest.
